Magnesium in the Blend: A Mineral Meets Your Nightly Ritual

Magnesium in the Blend: A Mineral Meets Your Nightly Ritual

LÉ DETOX brings botanical oils and mineral ingredients together in a ritual centered on your body. Alongside castor oil and milk thistle seed oil, you’ll find magnesium chloride, a form of magnesium used in topical preparations.

Its inclusion connects our blend to the familiar practice of mineral-based body care, thoughtfully reimagined as a few drops and a moment of gentle massage.

What is magnesium chloride?

Magnesium chloride is a mineral salt. It differs from magnesium sulfate, commonly known as Epsom salt, and from the botanical oils that form the foundation of our blend.

On our ingredient label, you’ll see it listed simply as Magnesium Chloride. Knowing the form matters because different magnesium preparations, concentrations, and application methods cannot be assumed to deliver the same results.

Why include magnesium in topical body care?

Research into magnesium-rich mineral preparations offers an interesting starting point. In one study, bathing in a Dead Sea salt solution rich in magnesium chloride improved skin hydration and certain measures of skin-barrier function in people with atopic dry skin.

Those findings help explain interest in magnesium-containing skin care. However, a mineral bath is different from an oil blend applied in small amounts. The study does not establish that LÉ DETOX delivers those same benefits or that magnesium alone was responsible for every result.

For our blend, magnesium is part of a broader approach to body care that brings minerals, botanical oils, and intentional touch into one daily practice.

Does topical magnesium work like a supplement?

Applying magnesium to the skin is different from consuming it through food or supplements. Research has not established topical magnesium as a reliable way to replenish the body’s magnesium levels.

A small pilot study of magnesium cream found no statistically significant increase in blood magnesium across the full treatment group, although a subgroup showed a change. These early findings leave important questions unanswered.

That distinction matters. The presence of magnesium in a body oil does not establish that it improves sleep, relieves menstrual cramps, or supports detoxification. Those benefits would require evidence specific to the formulation and its use.

A place in your evening routine

Our ritual is simple: shake the bottle, apply several drops in and around the navel, and gently massage into the skin. Pair it with a few slow breaths, journaling, or a quiet moment before bed.

The invitation to unwind comes from the experience as a whole. The gentle touch, the pause, and the attention you give yourself are all part of what makes the ritual personal.

Magnesium chloride sits alongside our botanical ingredients within that experience, bringing a mineral element to a blend made for intentional body care.

Thoughtful ingredients.

At LÉ DETOX, we believe understanding your formula is part of connecting with your ritual. Magnesium is one piece of that story, alongside the oils, the application, and the time you set aside for yourself.
